Sustainability Advisory Committee - The University of New Brunswick, through the Sustainability Program, will function in a manner that ensures a simultaneous pursuit of environmental stewardship, economic prosperity and social equity.

Climate Change Advisory Committee - A sub-committee of the Sustainability Advisory Committee (SAC), the CCAC will provide feedback, support and advice to the university leaders and members of the university community in regard to implementing UNB's Climate Change Action Plan initiatives on both the Fredericton and Saint John campuses. This document sets the terms of reference for this committee.

A brief description of each sustainability office:

The Sustainability Office aims to maintain a Sustainability Advisory Committee that provides insight and leadership to the growth of a sustainability program at UNB. Coordinate and assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of an Institutional Sustainability Plan that outlines key indicators, goals, targets and measurements in water and waste conservation, energy management, transportation, food services and education. Support and promote appropriate sustainability policies, procedures, and initiatives in all aspects of UNB campus operations. Encourage the inclusion of sustainability and environmental awareness in teaching and learning curriculums, co-curricular settings, and other opportunities. Share and communicate sustainability initiatives through celebrating successes and supporting events for students, staff, faculty and the public.

A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the institution-wide coordinating body or officer during the previous three years:

UNB Sustainability acts as a sustainability coordinating that develops and implements sustainability related programming on UNB's Fredericton and Saint John campuses. In recent years, they have collaborated a number of departments on both campuses to create programs such as the Green Event Program, and partnered with WWF Canada to make UNB a part of the Living Planet @ Campus program. Additionally, they have overseen the creation of an institution wide Climate Change Action Plan and a Campus Sustainability Plan for the Fredericton campus. The development of a Campus Sustainability Plan for the Saint John campus is currently in progress.
