A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the municipal/local level:
UNB's Office of the President with support from the UNB Sustainability Advisory Committee submitted a letter of support to advocate for the acceptance of the proposed active transportation plan to the Saint John City Council (see attached letter). The city will be implementing the proposed actions in the coming years to improve the ability and safety of campus users to bike to the UNB Saint John campus while providing students faculty and staff with the opportunity the option to travel to campus in an active and sustainable way.
