A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution:
The UNB Saint John Marine Semester is a 12-week intensive immersion program that offers substantial hands-on experience in marine biology, including diverse marine organisms (mammals, seabirds, fish, invertebrates, and algae) in the Bay of Fundy. The Marine Semester is offered at Huntsman Marine Science Centre in Saint Andrews, NB. This experiential learning experience provides students with hands-on experience with the ecology of the Bay of Fundy. This program includes 5 courses. The focus of the Marine Semester is on the environmental dimension of sustainability. However, discussions of ecosystem management within the program also bring in the social and economic dimensions of sustainability.
