Green Representatives Program

A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):

The Green Representative Program or Green UNB is a collaboration between UNB Sustainability, Residential Life and the Student Union that is designed to increase residence students’ exposure to sustainability related knowledge and to promote more sustainable lifestyle and behaviour choices. There will be a total of 4 Green Representatives, one for each residence cluster and one for townhouse.
• One representative for Lady Beaverbrook Residence, MacLeod House, Mackenzie House, and Aiken House
• One representative for Bridges House, Neil House, Neville House, and Harrison House
• One representative for Joy Kidd House, Lady Dunn Hall, Elizabeth Parr-Johnston Residence, Tibbets Hall (when operating)
• One representative for Townhouse and Magee Hall
In addition, there will be one Green Representative Coordinator position to oversee the program and provide support where needed.

Each representative is responsible for the following deliverables throughout the year:
• Hosting sustainable events in residence (two per semester)
• Educating members of the residence community on sustainability and best practices
• Facilitating in-residence recycling efforts
• Collaborating with the other Green Representatives to host one campus wide event per semester (The Residence Energy Challenge being the winter semester event)


A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (1st program):

The primary audience of this program is residence students, however, the Townhouse rep was also responsible for students living off campus that sign up with the Student Union.
