The UNB Student Union and UNB Sustainability have partnered to develop the Student Sustainability Fund (SSF) following a successful referendum during the Student Union elections in the spring of 2019. This fund will be available to any undergraduate students on the UNB Fredericton campus that is interested in developing sustainability related projects or programs on campus.
A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:
Projects that have a funding request of less than $500, the Finance Committee of the UNB Student Union make the final decision on whether funding is awarded. For projects with larger funding requests, that require alteration of campus infrastructure or that present a potential risk to campus users, the SSF Working Group reviews the project to decide whether or not funding is awarded. This group is a sub-committee of the Sustainability Advisory Committee made up of staff and faculty from a variety of campus departments.
