A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:

This STARS report encompasses only the Fredericton campus of the University of New Brunswick. It does not include the university's other satellite campuses nor any of its land holdings across the province.

The University of New Brunswick (UNB) is a public university with two primary campuses located in Fredericton and Saint John with other smaller satellite campuses in Moncton, Bathurst and two offices in the Caribbean and Beijing. It is the older English-language university in Canada and among the oldest universities in North America. The UNB Fredericton campus was founded in 1785 by seven Loyalists who left the United States after the American Revolution with the Saint John opening much more recently in 1964.
UNB offers over 75 degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels and was recognized as named the most entrepreneurial university in Canada at the 2014 Startup Canada Awards.

Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? Included?
Agricultural school No No
Medical school No No
Other professional school with labs and clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) Yes Yes
Satellite campus Yes No
Farm larger than 5 acres or 2 hectares No No

Hospital No No

The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:

The Saint John campus of UNB was excluded due to the fact that there are no combined operational departments shared between the two campuses.
