UNL appointed its inaugural Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion, Dr. Marco Barker in 2019. Dr. Barker has established the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI).
ODI provides vision, leadership, and advocacy in fostering an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming campus central to the land-grant mission of UNL; leads and facilitates the development of institutional policies, protocols, and practices intended to create a more equitable, and inclusive campus culture; and utilizes an inclusive excellence framework to foster an engaged, creative, and innovative learning environment for all. The vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion reports to the executive vice chancellor and chief academic officer and the chancellor.

Husker Dialogues is designed to introduce first-year students to tools they can use to engage in meaningful conversations to help create an inclusive Husker community.
The UNL Peace + Civility Project aims to promote civility across the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Specifically, promoting the core values of civil interactions by encouraging dialogue across the university.
Additional cultural trainings are conducted by areas that include: LGBTQA+ 101, Creating Inclusive Spaces, Brave Space – conducted by the LGBTQA+ Center.
OASIS (Office of Academic Success and Intercultural Services) works with all University of Nebraska-Lincoln students with an emphasis on meeting the needs of ethnic minority students and students receiving Diversity Enhancement Scholarships. OASIS offers diversity awareness, social engagement, leadership and academic excellence programs to all members of the UNL community.
