According to the 2020 adopted Environment, Sustainability, and Resilience Master Plan for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, there is a plan to publish an annual Sustainability & Resilience report which will produce progress towards stated goals and objectives not limited to the following:
1) Academic:
- Increased Number of sustainability courses over time,
- Number of students gaining Sustainability & Resilience certificates over time,
- Number of students and community members participating in informal educational opportunities related to sustainability & Resilience
2) Research:
- Number of Faculty engaged in Sustainability & Resilience research,
- Number of conference abstracts, papers, and grant awards to UNL Faculty & Staff in Sustainability & Resilience

According to the 2020 adopted Environment, Sustainability, and Resilience Master Plan for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, there is a plan to publish an annual Sustainability & Resilience report which will produce progress towards stated goals and objectives not limited to the following:
1. Publish bi-annual Sustainability culture survey that indicates not only the attitude and knowledge about sustainability among UNL community but also the results of participation level in various events held on campus and in our community.
2.Participation and program efficiency levels of different faculty/ staff/ student in peer-to-peer education programs like Eco Huskers, Green Office Certification.
3. Increased AASHE STARS Report scores
1. Publish bi-annual Sustainability culture survey that indicates not only the attitude and knowledge about sustainability among UNL community but also the results of participation level in various events held on campus and in our community.

1. Establish achievable reduction in energy consumption per year to achieve a reduction of 10% annually through the continued implementation of efficiency and technology upgrades along with relevant behavior change tactics.
2. Reduce the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of buildings to be 10% less than the EUI targets listed in ASHRAE Standard 100-2018 for climate zone 5.
3. Increase sustainable and resilient landscape best management practices in managed grounds by 2030.
4. Increase the use of alternative forms of transportation for commuting students, faculty, and staff by 50% by 2027.
5. Become a zero-waste campus by 2030 within non-research enterprises.
6. Decrease the use of potable water use through irrigation, building use, and utilities by 25%.

Diversity and inclusion are central to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s mission and its pursuit of excellence. The Vice Chancellor of Diversity & Inclusion sits at the Chancellor's cabinet to provide necessary vision, leadership, and advocacy in fostering an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming campus central to the land-grant mission of UNL. UNL established the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) in 2018 to lead and facilitate the development of institutional policies, protocols, and practices to create a more equitable, and inclusive campus culture.

Included in the strategic plan for the University of Nebraska System, President Ted Carter outlined as strategy aimed at efficiency and effectiveness, in which a statement in support of sustainability was made; “Furthermore, knowing that sustainability is a high priority for our students and employees, we will create a University-wide plan for improvement—preserving both University and natural resources.”
In support of this statement, a university-wide sustainability plan is in progress.
