A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution:

The University of Nebraska's Cedar Point Biological Station (CPBS) is a field research facility and experiential classroom. CPBS is located off UNL's main campus in western Nebraska, near Lake McConaughy and the city of Ogallala. The station sits in the heart of the western high plains near the juncture of tall grass and short grass prairie, on the south edge of the Sandhills and the North Platte River valley. The success of the Cedar Point Experience draws on the wide variety of local habitats with an abundance and diversity of flora and fauna.

Cedar Point Biological Station is part of Nebraska's School of Biological Sciences and is open for research and educational activities from approximately May 1st to August 15th and for individual events through mid-October. The station offers over 900 acres of UNL owned Prairie and Red Cedar-filled canyons, comfortable housing, dining facilities during the summer field season, a library, classroom spaces, research labs, WiFi, and a friendly, inviting atmosphere which leads to regular collaborations among users. Each summer at the Cedar Point Biological Station, the School of Biological Sciences offers eight experience-based field courses in biology that focus on student-based research.
