Centralized Renewable Energy System (CRES)
A brief description of the institution’s featured program, initiative, or accomplishment:
The innovative Centralized Renewable Energy System (CRES) leverages its close proximity to the Wastewater Treatment Plant to provide year-long heating and cooling to Nebraska Innovation Campus (NIC) without the use of steam boilers and water chillers. Instead, CRES sustainably warms and cools buildings by exchanging thermal energy (BTUs) from treated wastewater.
