According to recently published Sustainability & Resilience Master Plan for the UNL, there is a plan to publish an annual Sustainability & Resilience report which will produce progress towards stated sustainability and resilience goals and objectives not limited to the following:
1) Academic:
- Increased Number of sustainability courses over time,
- Number of students gaining Sustainability & Resilience certificates over time,
- Number of students and community members participating in informal educational opportunities related to sustainability & Resilience
2) Research:
- Number of Faculty engaged in Sustainability & Resilience research,
- Number of conference abstracts, papers, and grant awards to UNL Faculty & Staff in Sustainability & Resilience

2. Reduce the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of buildings to be 10% less than the EUI targets listed in ASHRAE Standard 100-2018 for climate zone 5.
3. Implement sustainable and resilient landscape practices in 100% of managed grounds by 2030.•
4. UNL’s core city/east and innovation campuses will establish low emission zones in collaboration with the city by 2027.
5. Reduce traffic and the number of parking spaces needed on and around campus by 30% by 2027.
6. Increase the use of alternative forms of transportation for commuting students, faculty, and staff by 50% by 2027

Diversity and inclusion are central to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s mission and its pursuit of excellence. The Vice Chancellor of Diversity & Inclusion sits at the Chancellor's cabinet to provide necessary vision, leadership, and advocacy in fostering an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming campus central to the land-grant mission of UNL. UNL established the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) in 2018 to lead and facilitate the development of institutional policies, protocols, and practices to create a more equitable, and inclusive campus culture.
In the Fall of 2019, UNL welcomed the most racially diverse and academically talented freshmen class in its 150-year history with 18.3% of 4,775 first-time freshmen being students of color.
