Chancellor's Sustainability Committee:
Formed in 2013, this committee is appointed by the Chancellor to promote sustainability efforts on the UNO campus. The UNO Sustainability Committee, charged by the Chancellor, shall serve to advise the Administration on sustainability-related matters by:
- Identifying sustainability opportunities and developing recommended priorities and action plans for implementation;
- Integrating sustainability with campus operations, education and outreach, wherever and whenever prudence dictates; and
- Engaging the campus and community in an ongoing dialogue about sustainability.

Student Government's Sustainability Committee:
Formed in 2012, this is the leading student organization that directs most student-led sustainability efforts on campus.

Sustainability Curriculum Committee/Sustainability Program Faculty
The faculty body overseeing and serving the Sustainability Program in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Nebraska at Omaha shall be known as the Sustainability Program Faculty (and also, in this document, the Sustainability Program Faculty, or Faculty).
The purpose of the Sustainability Program Faculty is to oversee and promote the Sustainability curriculum in the College of Arts & Sciences and to promote sustainability academic initiatives across the University.
On an annual basis the Director shall solicit nominations and appoint, subject to approval by the Faculty, a Curriculum Committee to consist of two representatives from the natural sciences, two representatives from the humanities, two representatives from the social sciences, and two at-large representatives that may or may not be faculty of the College of Arts & Sciences.

Sustainability Curriculum Committee/Sustainability Program Faculty
Full membership and participation, voting rights, and eligibility for office shall be granted to any full-time or part-time member of the faculty of the College of Arts & Sciences who 1) has a terminal degree in a discipline and area of specialty that would qualify him or her to teach a course in the Sustainability curriculum; or 2) is a faculty librarian charged with the acquisition or cataloging of Sustainability Program materials for the library.
Membership with full rights and privileges may be conferred upon an otherwise ineligible faculty member by a majority vote of the current membership. Such a designation, once conferred, shall not normally be revocable or need periodic reinstatement.

The Office of Sustainability was formed in November 2015 with the hiring of UNO's first Sustainability Coordinator. The focus of the office is to implement the Sustainability Master Plan and expand sustainability activities across campus.

NU System Presidents Sustainability Council comprised more than 80 members of student, faculty, and staff from each of the four campuses in the NU System. Accomplishments 2019-2021
- Update Sustainability Master Plan goals to better align with other campuses in the NU System
- Added two new student positions on the Sustainability Committee
- Developed formal collaboration between UNMC and UNO Office of Sustainability
- Hired Sustainability Coordinator
- Conducted bi-annual Sustainability Engagement Survey and distributed results (2019 and 2021)
- Recruitment and formulation of six campus working groups
- Development of annual work plan for four campus working groups
- Developed faculty survey to capture sustainability courses and research available at UNO
- Provided programming for prominent campus events including Durango Days, Campus Sustainability Month, and Homecoming
- Increased collaboration between sustainability (community garden)and Maverick Food Pantry; Supplied fresh food to pantry; Participated in three campus engagement events together
- Developed communications strategy/roadmap for sustainability topics in coordination with University Communications office

Office of Sustainability Accomplishments 2019-2021
- Coordinated with university housing staff to create a Sustainable Living Community for on-campus student residents with a dedicated RA and sustainability-focused programming; 64 student resident members
- Developed online dashboard displaying campus progress towards Sustainability Master Plan goals
- Developed campus compost program and facilitated composting practices in all back-of-house dining areas on campus
- Developed student educators program for peer-to-peer education on waste reduction opportunities and practices at UNO called Trash Talkers; trained 30 student leaders
- Awarded grant for funding two waste reduction stations to improve access and knowledge about waste sorting practices
- Expanded campus community garden from three raised beds to 13
- Secured funding for three student worker positions
- Supported three Service Learning Academy projects with SUST1000 course
- Conducted waste audit of Milo Bail Student Center
- Provided three professional development seminars on sustainability; lectured in seven classes
- Hosted four student interns; developed a sustainability professional development program; developed a waste reduction program and strategy
- Negotiated and secured student discount for local bike share program, B-Cycles
- Hosted over 40 events with over 2000 student attendees
- Assisted in negotiating terms related to waste hauling contract for university housing
