The University of Nebraska Omaha Human Resources staff offer services to assist with the recruitment, development, and retention of an outstanding, diverse, and fully engaged workforce. Re-Imagining U, a new employee training and development program, was launched in August 2017 in collaboration with UNMC Human Resources. Re-Imagining U is offered year-round and new offerings are updated monthly. Offerings cover aspects of social sustainability (equity, diversity, safety). These courses include: Change Management, Developing FMLA/ADA for Employees and Managers, Hiring Best Practices, Service Inside and Out, Trust and Communication, Aging; Imagining your future self, Attitude of Gratitude, S'more Teamwork, Serenity in the age of anxiety, Appreciating Difference, Valuing People, Safe Space Training and much more. Re-Imagining U gives employees the opportunity to customize their learning and skill development in a way that is right for them. Courses are offered individually. Employees can take courses in any order they desire. Re-Imagining U also features one-time speakers and topics – called Electives. These Electives cover deeper discussions; trending leadership topics; and equity, diversity and inclusion learning.
In April 2019, the Office of Sustainability will be hosting a class about sustainable living - at work, in class, and at home.
