A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
Activities of the Office of Multicultural Affairs are advertised across campus and open to participation from all. URL: http://www.unk.edu/oma/. In addition to the Nebraska Cultural Unity Conference, there are several activities responding to the Heritage Months. The annual World Affairs Conference sponsored by International Education is open to attendance from faculty, staff and students. In addition, a campus conversation table is open to those audiences through ELI (English Language Institute) to assist students in practicing conversational English. Recently, national speaker, Lenora Billings-Harris, came to campus presenting “Building Bridges: The Oz Perspective” focusing on diversity and inclusion and inviting participation from across campus.
