Name of the campaign:
Biking My Campus (Mon campus à vélo)

A brief description of the campaign:

Despite the pandemic and the extended closure of a large portion of in-person university activities, some of Biking My Campus activities have been maintained.

CAMPAIGN OBJECTIVES

Promote cycling from a healthy lifestyle perspective.

Mobilize, encourage and increase cycling culture at UdeM... and beyond!

The Université de Montréal has proposed to Velo-Québec and other post-secondary institutions to join it in creating a major bicycle promotion campaign aimed at students, notably by creating a student bicycle week in September, which is launching a movement in the Montréal region and elsewhere in Québec.

Bike-to-Work Program

The Collectif Vélo Campus UdeM, with the support of the Sustainable Development Unit of the Université de Montréal, offers its employees and students an accompanying program to promote the use of bicycles for commuting to the University's main campus.

This program allows an experienced cyclist to be paired with an employee, teacher or student who wishes to embark on the active transportation adventure. The latter will be able to benefit from a 30 to 60-minute meeting during which he will be given advice on the necessary equipment (bike, clothing), safe driving and the ideal route to take. The beginner cyclist will also be able to benefit from assistance to make the journey the first time.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:

As part of the campaign, various activities are organized, mainly during the last week of September (student bike week):
-Bicycle booth (safety, issues for bikers in the city, etc.);
bike repair shop;
-Bicycles burning;
-Electrically assisted bicycle trials;
-Bike-to-Work Program
