Important note: modification to our method of compiling demographic data

In preparation for the 2019 certification application for the Université de Montréal, the Office of Institutional Research and the Sustainable Development Unit of the Université de Montréal have agreed to modify the accounting method for students and employees. From now on, the accounts will be drawn up on a fixed date, i.e. 1 October of the year in which the application for certification is submitted, in order to make the process simpler and more consistent.
The method used in 2016 was based on the number of students and employees who attended the University over a one-year period, based on available data.
This has the effect of significantly reducing the number of students on the 2019 countdown:
2016 : 59 574
2019 : 49 625
But also of employees:
2016 : 17 000
2019 : 11 368
