The analysis of the presence of sustainability in continuing education at the Université de Montréal is based on an inventory of all these courses conducted in March 2016 by the Vice-Rector's Office for Studies.
Certain categories of activities were excluded from the calculation:
-the clinical training courses (veterinary, medicine, optometry)
-conferences
-workshops
-thematic days
-happy hours
-webinars (those exclusively offered online).

A brief description of the certificate program(s), including the year the program was created:
Intensive trainings take place over 6 days in the summer with a dozen of experts. They are aimed at members of NGOs, employees of the public sector, lawyers, journalists, diplomats, teachers and trainers, or managers of companies, as well as interested citizens and graduate students at the end of their degree.
Summer intensive school on Circular Economy:
Since 2016, the Arts and Sciences Faculty offers a summer intensive school in Circular Economy.
Circular economy is a new economic model that aims to increase the efficiency in the use of resources (material, energy, water) already circulating on the market.
Summer intensive school on Climate Change:
The objective of the CÉRIUM's summer school on Climate Change, which started in 2016 as well, is to provide keys of understanding to students, researchers, and practitioners who will operate within a political economy undergoing profound changes. The summer school explores the transformations and upheavals in the fight against climate change, providing a historical perspective and future prospects in the short, medium, and long term.
