Does the institution have an ongoing program or programs that offer incentives for faculty in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses?:
Yes

A brief description of the program(s), including positive outcomes during the previous three years (e.g. descriptions of new courses or course content resulting from the program):

Conference exchange system in ESDCE (Environmental, Sustainable Development and Circular Economy).

The EDDEC Institute (Institut de l’environnement, du développement durable et de l’économie circulaire) aims to support and promote training, research, action, and outreach in environment, sustainable development and circular economy at Polytechnique Montréal, Université de Montréal and HEC Montréal, in an effort to foster partnerships and interactions between the three institutions and the community. On the level of training, the Institute’s main objective is “to enrich the curriculum for current and future students on these themes”.
Preoccupation about the necessity to increase exchanges between the establishments and for the improvement of the student curriculum has prompted the creation of the SECE (Système d'échange de conférences en EDDEC). Since the main theme of ESDCE is essentially multidisciplinary, it was important that students in ESDCE acquire learn-to-know, learn-to-do, and learn-to-be in each of these disciplines, a task relatively difficult considering the traditional monodisciplinary approach in teaching. With this system of exchange, teachers from all three educational institutions may ask, or be asked by, colleagues from other institutions to enhance their courses.

A brief description of the incentives that faculty members who participate in the program(s) receive:

Professors and other speakers are encouraged to share their availability for conferences or lectures through the ESDCE platform. There is no financial compensation and there are no changes to the speaker’s regular teaching duties.
