Level of ”Physical Risk Quantity” for the institution’s main campus as indicated by the World Resources Institute Aqueduct Water Risk Atlas:
Medium to High

Part 1. Reduction in potable water use per person

Total water withdrawal (potable and non-potable combined):
Performance Year Baseline Year
Total water withdrawal 48,201,659 Gallons 17,252,940 Gallons

Potable water use:
Performance Year Baseline Year

Start Date End Date
Performance Period Oct. 1, 2020 Sept. 30, 2021
Baseline Period Nov. 1, 2017 Oct. 31, 2018

If end date of the baseline year/period is 2004 or earlier, provide:

A brief description of when and why the water use baseline was adopted:
This baseline was selected because it is the same baseline we are applying to the entire application. A few years back gives us easy access to data but is not so distant that there is a stark contrast between the baseline and performance.

Figures needed to determine "Weighted Campus Users":
Performance Year Baseline Year
Number of students resident on-site 1,084 1,154
Number of employees resident on-site 0 8
Number of other individuals resident on-site 0 0
Total full-time equivalent student enrollment 2,291 2,702
Full-time equivalent of employees 494 422
Full-time equivalent of students enrolled exclusively in distance education 35 0
Weighted campus users 2,333.50 2,633.50

Potable water use per weighted campus user:
Performance Year Baseline Year
Potable water use per weighted campus user 18,691.69 Gallons 6,551.33 Gallons

Percentage reduction in potable water use per weighted campus user from baseline:
0

Part 2. Reduction in potable water use per unit of floor area

Gross floor area of building space:
Performance Year Baseline Year
Gross floor area 1,218,910 Gross square feet 1,157,032 Gross square feet

Potable water use per unit of floor area:
Performance Year Baseline Year
Potable water use per unit of floor area 35.78 Gallons per square foot 14.91 Gallons per square foot

Percentage reduction in potable water use per unit of floor area from baseline:
0

Part 3. Reduction in total water withdrawal per unit of vegetated grounds

Area of vegetated grounds:
Performance Year Baseline Year
Vegetated grounds 132 Acres 133 Acres

Total water withdrawal per unit of vegetated grounds:
Performance Year Baseline Year
Total water withdrawal per unit of vegetated grounds 365,164.08 Gallons per acre 129,721.35 Gallons per acre

Percentage reduction in total water withdrawal per unit of vegetated grounds from baseline:
-181.50

Optional Fields

A brief description of the institution's water-related behavior change initiatives:
The green room certification encourages students in the dorms to commit to water-conserving behaviors in order to get their room certified "green". We now use non-potable water for irrigation in several key areas across campus.

A brief description of the institution's water recovery and reuse initiatives:
---

A brief description of the institution's initiatives to replace plumbing fixtures, fittings, appliances, equipment, and systems with water-efficient alternatives:
Physical plant has replaced dorm showerheads with low-flow versions when needing replacement. When we replace toilets we are using more efficient toilets of 1.6 gal or less per flush and lower where possible.

Additional documentation to support the submission:
---

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Vegatated grounds were calculated by converting the building square footage total into acres, then subtracting that acreage from the total 160 acreage of campus.

Potable water use was calculated using the gallons listed on the spreadsheet the Physical Plant uses to track usage according to the Montevallo & Alabaster water bills. 43,617,059.0

Coty provided the non-potable water #. 4,584,600 gallons
