We put this estimate together by putting together:
1) the number of student-athletes and their actual reported service hours (this was the only tracked hours in the system)
2) the number of students in greek life (they are required to do 10 hours of service per semester, and there are 350 students in greek life)
3) the hard numbers for the big event (400 students, 1200 service hours generated)
4) rounding up to account for other student orgs who are not counted in these areas
