A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
The Housing and Residence Life Office has partnered with Sustainability @UM to require every Residence Advisor to offer a sustainability-themed event for their residence community every year. Dr. Caplow comes to the RA training program at the beginning of the year to provide an introduction to sustainability, and to run a workshop in which students generate plans for their event and receive feedback. They also have funding available through their housing budget to support these events. The RAs are also required to create informational bulletin boards every month, and in October the theme is "sustainability." Dr. Caplow also offers a Green Fund workshop in addition to the initial workshop, in case any of the plans require more funds than their housing budget contains.
