Since 2011, the University of Montana has committed to pursuing LEED certification on all new construction projects over $8M because of Montana state law. Since 2019, 2 new buildings have been added to the univerity's campus: The Montana Museum of Art and Culture (17,000 ft2) and new dining center known as The Lodge Dining Hall (43,000 ft2). Both of these buildings have been certified as LEED Gold and make up a combined 60,000 sq ft of new LEED certified space on campus.
