Though not each opportunity is emraced by every department on campus, administrators are encouraged to support their employees' involvement in campus and community service. Many departments seek community service opportunities off campus as team-building activities. 

Some volunteer experiences employees and departments participate in as paid work:

  • Campus Thrift Sale (run by the Office of Sustainability)
  • Can the Cats Food Drive (widely promoted leading up to Homecoming)
  • Garden Work Days at campus gardens
  • Student Move-In Day (UM Housing recruits for volunteers months in advance and provides a free lunch voucher for participants)
  • Graduation
