Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Endowment amount pulled from the 2019-2020 audited financial statements of the University of Montana Foundation.
Total campus area - received from UM grounds manager, Ben Carson, and includes Main Campus, south campus (off-campus housing, golf course, etc.), Fort Missoula, Missoula College (both campuses), and the FLBS, Lubrecht, and Bandy Ranch properties. In OP-9 we use 556.09 acres in our reporting because this number more accurately reflects total acreage actively managed by UM. The acreage included in PRE-4 above is inclusive of satellite locations and UM-owned property that we own but do not actively manage.
Total building GSF - includes Main Campus, Msla College East Broadway campus, West Campus, plus Bandy Ranch, Lubrecht, and Flathead Lake Bio Station. It includes UM-owned housing on south campus (University Villages, etc.) and on-campus residence halls. It does NOT include UM-owned rental properties that are not leased to students. Note that this number decreased significantly from our 2017 report b/c we incorrectly included roughly 1M sf of miscellaneous facilities that are owned but not managed by UM and that are not included in our 2020 GHG inventory.
Lab and healthcare facility space were obtained from Brad Evanger in Facilities Services and pulled directly from our space database using the codes given in the STARS credit guidance. In 2017, all 200 codes were used for laboratory space, hence the large difference from 2017 to 2020.
