A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:

The University of Montana uses ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager to benchmark our energy usage and create actionable data and has been doing so for the last 10 years. This program helps us track our building energy use and ultimately use energy more efficiently. All university-owned buildings have been entered and monitored through Portfolio Manager.

Although the University of Montana does not have any buildings formally certified as LEED EBOM, we have researched and initiated the process. We have a Green Cleaning Policy in place, a Tobacco Policy, Waste Stream Management, Energy Management, and an alternative transportation system. These have not yet been certified to meet LEED requirements however.
Please note that there is not a single document compiling the policies and guidelines but several links as provided herein. Sustainability-related policies include Purchasing-Energy Star, Tobacco-Free Campus, and Green Cleaning:http://umt.edu/policies/.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

Review comments included the note that in order to qualify space as being managed under a 'multi-attribute program' that an energy management system had to be included. Our sustainability team hadn't realized that Facilities Services engineers and energy managers have been using Portfolio Manager since 2009, so upon seeking this information out, we were surprised to learn that we could check this box as well.
