Since 2011, the University of Montana has committed to pursuing LEED certification on all new construction projects over $3M because of Montana state law. Since 2017, four new buildings and one addition have been added to the university’s campus: the Gilkey Building for Executive Education, the new Missoula College campus, the Washington Champion Center, the Student Athlete Academic Center, and an addition to the PJW Education Building. All facilities are certified LEED Gold, except the Champion Center which is certified LEED Silver. In total, these buildings cover 244,736 square feet.
