The Lubrecht Experimental Forest is a research and training forest used within the forestry program at the University of Montana. One of the many facets of research conducted by students at the Lubrecht forest includes research on how tree species are responding to changes in climate.

For example, students have partnered with Dining Services to collaborate on the Real Food Challenge. Students regularly partner with the Associated Students of the University of Montana Transportation department to better understand sustainability issues within our transportation systems. Students have worked directly on projects related to improving bicycling conditions on campus, among others.

One example would be a recent student organized and led waste audit conducted on campus with waste from residence halls. The purpose of the audit was to compare waste diversion rates pre/post an expansion of our residence hall recycling program.
