This partnership supports all three dimensions of sustainability. Eating fresh produce is healthier, and therefore better for the wellbeing of those consuming it. Food pantry customers that grow some of their own food reduce the burden on food pantries which allows them to expand services to more underserved populations. Growing more local produce for food pantries decreases dependence on food produced by industrial agriculture.

"The goal of the collaborative adaptive management process is to improve water quality in Hinkson Creek by using a science- based approach guided by a local stakeholder committee. It will assess the entire stream system, including the creek and other
parts of the watershed. Improving the ecosystem should help support the return of the biological community to a fully functioning level as well as addressing other pollutants that may be contribution to water quality issues. "http://www.helpthehinkson.org/CollaborativeAdaptiveManagement.htm"Improving the water quality of Hinkson Creek by removing the pollutant contamination can increase local water quality; increasing both the health of the environment, and the health of the people who's water supply is linked to the watershed.
