A brief description of the program:
A collaboration between the University of Missouri, the City of Columbia and the Heart of Missouri United Way, Tiger Treasures collects and sells unwanted items donated by students departing for the summer from MU Residential Life facilities and Greek houses. The project diverts tons of material from the landfill and proceeds from the sale benefit local charitable agencies. Last year,June 2010, about 18 tons of "treasures" donated by MU students were diverted from the landfill.
