A brief description of the campaign(s):
The Mizzou Dashboard Project utilizes real-time, high-resolution feedback of electricity consumption in residential halls and other high traffic buildings via web-based Building Dashboard technology in order to educate students, staff, and faculty about energy usage and energy conservation issues.
Building Dashboard functions as the focal point of an energy education and reduction campaign targeted specifically at students on campus. Through advertising, events, and education the campaign works to change student, staff, and faculty actions towards more energy-conscious behavior and increase knowledge about energy in general. The effects of both the technology and the education campaign will be monitored by surveys and tracked using the dashboard system.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign(s):
Last year the Mizzou Dashboard system was connected to three residence halls, Shurz, Hatch, and College Avenue. These residence halls were the focus of an energy awareness campaign and a weeklong energy conservation competition. As part of the awareness campaign light switches and lounge area TVs were tagged with their average energy use per hour. Students were pitted against each other to encourage energy reduction and as a result after that week long competition the three residence halls showed an average 2.4% reduction in energy use.
