A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
The new Cherry Street Parking Structure’s design includes multiple sustainable features including the selection of water efficient landscaping, optimized energy usage, and recycled content, along with use of regional materials and low-emitting materials. The design team is also utilizing materials generated from the demolition of the existing garage and reusing a portion of the steel to make a site sculpture. Additionally the structure is being used to house the campus police, real-estate and mailroom departments as well as provide commuter showers, indoor bicycle parking, electric vehicle parking and plug-ins.
