A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s), including information to support each affirmative response above :
Students, staff, and faculty have access to counseling and wellbeing services. The Division of Student Affairs includes departments to support faculty, staff and students; including an employee assistance program for faculty and staff and emotional counseling for students. Currently, a registered dietitian is available for nutrition counseling for students, faculty, and staff. Additional services include an onsite employee health and student health center, including medical personnel and services (x-ray, lab, a pharmacy, and physical therapists.)
Additionally, wellness support and programming is offered through a campus-wide initiative, RebelWell. The program creates a culture of wellness by developing and implementing programs promoting and advancing health, nutrition, physical activity, and individual wellness. The programs include nutritional education through counseling sessions, seminars, and demonstrations and physical activities promotions, including walking challenges, group fitness classes, and educational fairs.
Three policies have been put in place for staff members to promote and support these efforts; flexible schedule policy, participation in wellness activities policy, and break policy.
