A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:

This data was collected via a Qualtrics survey that was developed in partnership with the Active Transportation Advisory Committee and the Office of Institutional Research, Effectiveness and Planning (IREP). IREP developed a representative and anonymous sample of students, faculty and staff using key demographic information housed internally. IREP also distributed the survey. The survey was fielded during November 5th-30th, 2018 and received 1040 valid responses.
