Total campus area includes 850.45 acres on the main campus, 780 acres at the UM Field Station and 254 acres at the UM Golf Course.
The square footage reported as laboratory space is the total square footage of buildings on campus that contain spaces categorized in the U.S. Department of Education's Postsecondary Education Facilities Inventory and Classification Manual 250 and 255 series.
We do not have data to support energy intensive space, so we recorded this as "0" though we do have buildings on campus that would be in this category. It is a recommendation of UM's Utilities Master Plan to install meters and data collection methods to comprehensively track total building energy use.
