Rebel Energy Challenge
A brief description of the campaign, including how students and/or employees were engaged:
Facilitated by the UM Office of Sustainability and the Eco-Reps program, the Rebel Energy Challenge is an annual energy conservation competition among residence halls on campus. Students participate in the challenge by signing an energy reduction pledge, taking a survey of their energy use, and swapping incandescent bulbs for energy efficient CFL bulbs. The 2017-2018 Rebel Energy Challenge was completed as a part of Green Week.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
During the 2017-2018 Rebel Energy Challenge, three participating residence halls (Residence Hall 1, Luckyday Residential College and Residential College South) swapped 105 total incandescent bulbs for energy efficient compact fluorescent bulbs.
