A brief description of the institution’s program to support employee volunteering:
UMN Morris faculty are appointed to support the Center for Community Partnerships as advisory council members, Research and Creative Activity Fellows, Community-Engaged Learning Fellows, Program Advisors, and Project Advisors, as well as other short-term roles. In addition, most all-campus days of service occur on weekends, evenings, or days off. Supervisors are permitted to allow employees to take flex time if they serve at these events. Morris Community Meal always includes a campus office co-sponsor; the staff in that office volunteer on Morris Community Meal day rather than working at their jobs on campus, and that office closes for the afternoon. In addition, staff can work with their supervisors to allocate time each week during work hours to a particular organization or effort. This year, faculty and staff volunteered at the Stevens County Food Shelf, Community ESL classes, and interpreting and translating for the Morris Area School District.

Also, the Office of Community Engagement at Morris has awards that celebrate faculty and staff community service.
