A brief description of how and when the cultural assessment(s) were developed and/or adopted:
UMN Morris Office of Sustainability screened a sample of sustainability cultural assessments used by different universities, developed a list of questions relevant to our campus, screened them, and launched the survey in 2021.

For students: freshmen and seniors receive a sustainability assessment yearly that includes questions intended to assess campus sustainability culture and knowledge.

For faculty/staff: all employees receive a survey yearly that asks a series of sustainability culture questions.

The survey is sent to the student populations (freshman/seniors) via email each year. The survey is sent to faculty/staff via an employee listserv.

A brief summary of results from the cultural assessment:
Please, see the attached document for more survey information sent to students. We received about a 25% response rate from faculty/staff. In general, the campus population would like to see even more education about waste diversion/proper recycling. The majority of the respondents think that UMN Morris is a sustainability leader, have seen some of our clean energy infrastructure, and believe climate change is important.
