A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:
Urban setting in the Twin-Cities metro area, with the Minneapolis side of campus on the West and East banks of the Mississippi River, and the St Paul campus.
Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? | Included? | |
Agricultural school | Yes | Yes |
Medical school | Yes | Yes |
Other professional school with labs or clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) | Yes | Yes |
Museum | Yes | Yes |
Satellite campus | Yes | No |
Farm larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres | Yes | Yes |
Agricultural experiment station larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres | Yes | Yes |
Hospital | Yes | No |
The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:
The University of Minnesota system has four other campuses, an Arboretum, and multiple research and outreach centers, which are geographically and operationally separate from the Twin Cities campus. For these reasons, the system campuses (i.e. Crookston, Duluth, Morris, and Rochester), the Arboretum, and the research and outreach centers are excluded from this STARS report. Additionally, the hospital is not included in this STARS report as the building is owned and operated by a third-party health care services provider (i.e. Fairview Health).
