"www.facebook.com/italladdsupumn/, www.twitter.com/umnsustain/, www.instagram.com/it.all.adds.up.umn/, www.tiktok.com/@umnsustainability, and an email newsletter. The sustainability email newsletter is sent 1-3 times per semester and announces sustainability-related events, webinars, updates on UMN sustainability progress or initiatives, opportunities for student sustainability engagement, job opportunities, and more. Students sign up for the email newsletter at Welcome Week events in the fall and students, staff, faculty, alum, and other members of the public sign up for our email newsletter at any time throughout the year via our website. We also share news and opportunities through the UMN Sustainability Education e-newsletter (http://environment.umn.edu/leadership/susted/sign-sustainability-education-newsletter/) and the Institute on the Environment e-newsletter (http://environment.umn.edu/contact/e-newsletter-signup/).

We use a variety of social media platforms to promote sustainability to our University community and beyond. Beyond our own pages listed above, several other accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram support sustainability at the University of Minnesota including but not limited to University of Minnesota Recycling Program, Sustainability Education, Institute on the Environment, M Dining, The University of Minnesota Reuse Program, and more."

A brief description of the signage that highlights sustainability features on campus:

Signage is displayed in LEED certified buildings such as Bruininks Hall to highlight sustainability features. Informational maps outlining the sustainability features are also available at the front desk. The University of Minnesota's football stadium, Huntington Bank Stadium (formerly TCF Bank Stadium), features exterior signage about its sustainability features and LEED certification. Living Lab (https://z.umn.edu/livinglab) signage is posted outdoors either seasonally or year-round. For example, the West Bank Community Garden features permanent signage. Additionally, campus signage promotes sustainability initiatives including Stop the Thud/Lights Out for Birds, Hit the Lights, and informational organics/waste recovery signage at waste stations across campus.

https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/5deed824f47f433eb8f666c6f28c28b9 The interactive virtual sustainability walking tour uses GIS to show sustainability highlights across campus and gives an explanation of each feature along with a photo or video. Stops include a community garden, green roof, urban meadow, solar installations, LEED certified buildings, combined heat and power plant, an Energy Star building, rain gardens and other stormwater features, bicycling program, farmers markets, ReUse center, the football stadium, and more.

A brief description of the guide for green living and/or incorporating sustainability into the residential experience:

Sustainability Advocates (SA) are students that live within the residence halls on either Minneapolis or St.Paul campus. The SA's primary focus is to be a source of information and knowledge to the University of Minnesota Recycling Program and their fellow residences. SA's provide a variety of pee to peer education through events and educational campaigns. The main educational focus of the program is around proper waste disposal in the residence halls, including the promotion of the new organics composting program. There is also a focus around promotion and education about the university's upcoming Climate Action Plan.

Event examples could include waste sorting games, documentary movie nights, sustainability trivia, free stores/shelves, tabling and more.
