Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
The count of faculty conducting sustainability research was based on a review of active research projects over the past three fiscal years (i.e. 2009, 2010, and 2011). It includes faculty (i.e. Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors)PI's and co-PI's that were active on a research project that met the definition of sustainability research.
The total number of faculty engaged in research came from Office of Institutional Research data. For 2010, OIR reports that there were 3,374 faculty on the Twin Cities campus. For the purposes of this survey it was assumed that all of those faculty are engaged in research.
