A brief description of the event(s):
Each year, Beautiful U Day brings together students, faculty and staff for beautification and sustainability events on all University of Minnesota campuses. The Twin Cities campus has used the event to introduce the It All Adds Up program’s energy conservation initiative, setting the goal of reducing energy consumption by five percent by the end of 2010. It also launched the It All Adds Up’s recycling initiative with the goal of recovering an additional five percent of campus waste for recycling by the end of 2012. Energy Management also presented "Fueling the Campus - Get the Facts!" a brown bag lunch discussion and Q&A to explain the environmental and budgetary considerations that affect management of the university's utilities.
