- Wellness Collaborative sessions that focus on the Environment, Sustainability, and Stewardship. Wellness Collaborative sessions are offered monthly, with rotating focus areas. Topics include: Transforming 20th Century Institutions to Meet 21st Century Realities, Connecting with Nature
- Lunch on a Mission (Student Life workshops)
- Multiple workshops, talks, and training events (Ex: Departmental meeting invites, the UMD Equity and Diversity Summit presentations, Green Office Certification presentations, etc.)
- A campuswide Sustainability Update is sent each Fall to all staff and faculty (see: http://www.d.umn.edu/sustainability/about )
A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution(e.g. through payment, reimbursement, or subsidy):
UMD Grounds staff attend Winter Snow Removal training (proper snow removal/storage and salt application training)
Key outdoor staff are trained in Stormwater trainings to detect illicit discharge (and are reported through our mandatory stormwater permit through the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency)
