The New Employee Welcome Sheet for UMD includes sustainability information for all new employees, in both environmental and social realms of susatinability.

Environmental: The new employee orientation emphasizes sustainable transportation options, include the U-PASS bus program and nearby bus stops and our Bike-To-Campus program. It also includes information on Waste Reduction initiatives and how to properly sort recycling and compostable items at UMD.

Social: Wellness and work safety is addressed in several areas, including ergonomic assessments and desk positioning. Wellness programming is emphasized, including our Wellness points program and the suite of choices available through Recreational Sports Outdoor Programs, which encourage staff/faculty to get active and enjoy the outdoors around our campus. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is also listed, which provides confidential professional consultation.
