A brief description of the methodology used to determine the total number of courses offered and to identify sustainability course offerings, including the definitions used and the process for reviewing and/or validating the course inventory :

For 'sustainability courses', we started with used the current Liberal Education Requirements listing. After completing the list transfer, all class lists were gone through and any classes that were missed were added.

For 'courses that include sustainability', faculty in the UMD Sustainability Committee on Education, along with staff/interns in the UMD Sustainability office searched the course catalog to find courses that include sustainability. Follow-up emails and phone calls to faculty and Departmental Directors helped refine this list.

Each course was counted as a single course regardless of the number of offerings or sections

2) Academic Departments confirmed - Dept Count uploaded as supplemental documentation

QUESTION FOR STARS: Not sure if we should update IC-3 or leave # Depts there the same (as there are non-degree Depts at UMD.)
