A brief description of the program:

All full time students, faculty and staff at UMD can use their school ID as a free bus pass the entire school year. This is called the UPASS program and is a partnership between UMD and the Duluth Transit Authority. The program was started in 2000, and has grown in popularity each year. In 2011, the UPASS program had its 4 millionth rider.
