The Student Government ECO Agency was launched in 2012 to incentivize sustainability innovation among students. UM students at the time, decided to increase the student fee and allocate a portion of it to sustainability education and projects through the SG ECO Agency on campus.

Each of the 16 ECO Agency board members manage a team of 3 green committee members, and work with multi-stakeholders on campus and in the community to present, vote , fund and implement their projects.
