A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
Due to time restrictions, we agreed with AASHE to perform our inventory on one semester, Spring 2021. We started by asking the Provost Office to provide us with the full Registrar Catalog of Courses offered for the Spring 2021. Then we divided the list by departments, added a column wit a drop down window for Tier 1 and Tier 2 courses, as well as a column for associated Learning outcomes(excluding the courses below as well as courses that did not fit in either categories). We provided the pre-screened list, the methodology guidelines - with definitions and examples for both Tiers - and the sustainability definition from p.12 and p.13 of the STARS 2.1 technical manual to each department chair at the University. The chairs were requested their faculty to select Tier 1 and Tier 2 courses from the pre-screened list we provided and add their respective learning outcomes. After collecting the lists, we verified any anomaly, used the courses description and the list of keywords used in the Research credit to finalize the selection, and compiled them into the STARS AC 1 Inventory.
