A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory (including the types of faculty and staff included as researchers):
Our Office of Planning, Institutional Research and Assessment works with a software company called Academic Analytics in charge of establishing an inventory of all research papers published by UM faculty. We send them a list of keywords related to sustainability that our sustainability in the curriculum faculty committee agreed on. They provided a full list of all papers and faculty for the year 2017 with a rating for Relevancy. With the help of faculty members, we reviewed the content of a sample of papers classified by relevancy score and decided on the most efficient threshold to generate the list of faculty who published papers related to Sustainability that year. For the purpose of this inventory we retain the total number of Academic departments or equivalents from the AA list (226)and not the one provided by the IC credit (108) that don't really count "equivalents"
