Bike racks located campus-wide, built to accommodate over 1,700 bikes, are available to all bicycle commuters. Showers and daily lockers are available at the Patti and Allan Herbert Wellness Center for bicycle commuters. Bike racks are immediately available in front of the wellness center. The medical campus has secure bicycle storage.
Does the institution provide short-term bicycle parking for all occupied buildings and makes long-term bicycle storage available for students who live on-site (if applicable)?:

Short-term bicycle parking is available in front of most buildings on campus. Long-term parking is available in front of all dormitories. Bicycle parking was strategically placed and continues to be strategically placed based on need per building. There are some covered shelters but parking is mostly open air. For enrolled students that are taking a semester off (study abroad) there is enclosed storage space for them to keep their bike

The university has a bicycle policy that adheres to Florida Statutes. The policy includes its own policies about abandoned bikes, improperly parked, pedestrian and bike safety, ADA and obstruction penalties.

The university offers subsidized transit passes based on individuals salary. Additionally, the university offers free shuttle service around campus to all university affiliates. University of Miami provides discounted metro rail passes for commuter students and the Hurry Cane Shuttle picks up from the University metro-rail station and drives around campus.

All commuter students enroll in the Emergency Ride Home Program at no cost. http://www.miami.edu/ref/index.php/parking_and_transportation/transportation_options/commuter_services/. We also have safe ride where our police department escorts students around and near campus

The university has partnered with South Florida Commuter Services' carpool and bicycle matching program.

The university partnered with Zipcar and offers designated parking or the Zipcars in most needed locations (mainly near residential halls). The program is open for all UM affiliates.

The university offers a flex program during summer session (June-August). The university is working on the feasibility of extending the program year-round.

The university offers discounted parking permits for hybrid vehicles and offers designated parking for electric vehicles and charging stations Level 2. UM Bicycle Reuse partners with Magic City Bicycle Collective to reuse abandoned bicycles on campus.
