A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate:

Recycling bins that collected cans & bottles and paper are located throughout campus. Pre-consumer food waste is collected and donated to a local farmer for animal feed. Additionally, there is a S.W.A.P (Surpus with a Purpose) program which helps divert used office/lab supplies from the waste stream by facilitating reuse.
